Top 10 Most Over-Hyped Health Products

Health products are notorious for making bold claims that are often bold-faced lies, but it doesn't take much for a person to get swept up in the hype of these popular products. Effective marketing strategies, like customer testimonials and word of mouth, help spread the hype and increase sales, but is it well deserved? So many of the health products we've come to trust and love have proven to be, well, pointless, and they may end up costing you more money and worries in the long run.

Here's a list of the 10 most overhyped health products on the market. Click here a link to read the rationale behind putting each of them on the list.

1. Multivitamins
2. Anti-bacterial soap
3. Scented feminine products
4. Breath-freshening mouthwash
5. Nasal irrigation devices
6. Redness-reducing eyedrops
7. Toothbrush sanitizers
8. Facial toner
9. Hand sanitizer
10. Cold prevention products

  1. Good list! There have been a few of these circulating lately about overhyped "health" products and foods and some of the lists are really ill-informed and actually overhyped lists themselves.

For example, a terrible one that left me fuming the other day was claiming bananas were not really such a healthy fruit...baloney! yes, they are one of the more calorie dense fruits out there but that has nothing to do with their overall awesome nutrition benefits.

    1. That's funny about the overhyped lists!

I know what you mean about dissing bananas. Another one that irks me is people saying not to eat carrots. As if anyone ever got fat eating carrots, or bananas!

  2. link doesn't work...
